General Information

The Strategic Project Management Office (SPMO) application provides:

• Persistent storage and reporting of project meta data, status, milestones, objectives, accomplishments, issues and change requests.

• Functionality that enforces standard processes and methods for the management of projects and project meta data.

• Persistent storage and reporting of activity meta data, status and progress.

• A secure web interface for interaction with the application using a standard web browser

Narrative Overview

The SPMO application provides online project meta data maintenance and reporting functionality. This functionality is provided to the following groups:

• Project Managers - members of this group can enter project information into the system. This includes high-level (critical path) milestones and deliverables, issues, change requests, and accomplishments.

• Executive - members of this group can review project information as stored in the system. Executive members have no ability to update project information; this is done by Project Managers.

• SPMO Administrator – application administrators have certain configuration functions that only they are allowed to perform - to maintain specific values and codes within the system, to approve change requests and to authorize access to individuals to project data by portfolio and activities by category.

Additionally, the application provides access to meta data and progress updates associated to activities for all who have access to the Activity Tracking functionality of the application.
